Modern Theatre dance is a great dance class for teaching children very important dance technique and form, but with a far more rhythmic dance style than traditional classes such as Classical Ballet. Modern Theatre Dance technique is often seen on the stages of West-End musical productions and is known for its theatrical qualities.
Modern style teaches travelling steps, high kicks, leaps and turns which all increase a pupil’s strength and flexibility! This is a highly energetic dance style that’s fun and vibrant! All of our pupils are able to take part in Graded Examinations for Modern Theatre if they so wish. It is not compulsory to be entered for and take exams but we do encourage it – exams are really enjoyable and a motivational incentive for pupils.
At the end of every term we invite parents of our pupils into class to watch their progression and any dances or displays they may have learned. This is a chance for you to see what your child has been working on each term.
